We seek a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader to direct our pioneering global education program, a public service initiative we created to help high school and college students understand the world better. We provide free access to GlobalPost to 10,000+ students and teachers at more than 1,100 schools in 79 countries in every region of the world with tremendous potential for future growth.

As Executive Director, you’ll lead the program’s expansion building on our 7-year successful track record, forging new partnerships with schools and educational organizations and using innovative new content, social media and other communications channels to engage students directly. You’ll manage outreach to current partners, oversee GlobalPost’s annual student survey, and collaborate with the wider GlobalPost Media team.

The successful candidate will:

• Have 3 to 5 years of journalism or social entrepreneurship experience.
• Have superior writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Be a passionate advocate for quality, independent global journalism and for the educational value of bringing world news into the classroom. 
• Be able to work independently to achieve the program’s goals. 
• Be comfortable working with all relevant social media platforms.
• Be conversant with the social/cultural life of the 16 to 23-year-old demographic group we serve in the United States and internationally.

This position is available as of January 1, 2025. You will have a one-year, renewable contract for at least 20 hours a week. You can work a flexible schedule and live anywhere in the continental United States. GlobalPost Media is headquartered in Boston. Starting pay is $40 per hour.
