Why are your contributions tax deductible?
GlobalPost Media is a for-profit corporation, but we do receive philanthropic support from foundations and individuals who wish to contribute to our global education program for students and teachers.
This is made possible through a partnership with the Social Good Fund (SGF), a California- based 501C3 organization that provides fiscal sponsorship services to both not-for-profit and for-profit entities.
SGF requires GlobalPost to demonstrate that our global education work constitutes a charitable service as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. Your gift and others like them go directly to SGF, not to GlobalPost, where they are placed in escrow. The funds are dispersed to us in accordance with guidelines established by SGF and can be used only for our Global Education Initiative.
A receipt for your contribution will be provided.
